Raygun Youth presents... 'Hospitality' @ The Cube

DJ's:
Fabio
London Elektricity
Cyantific
Mistabishi

MC's:
SP:MC
Wrec

After Hospital Records newcomer ‘Mistabishi’ played the first set of the night to what must have been less than 30 people, Cyantific stepped up to show his turntable skills, and as a few more heads arrived, the dance floor started to fill. With some quick mixing, and a nice selection, he played what was musically the best set of the night. Managing to even drop DJ Zinc’s 2-step garage anthem ‘138 Trek’, he built a nice atmosphere and had the crowd skankin'.

As more numbers started to arrive ‘London Elektricity’ took the crowd on a journey of drum & bass, covering all sides of the spectrum, but also keeping a very liquid vibe. Smooth mixing saw through a 90 minute set as MC Wrec hyped up an ever-growing audience. By 1pm the atmosphere had reached it’s peak and the appreciative student ravers wanted more. As SP:MC took over on mic duty, the anthems kept coming, and there was the usual dose of dubstep thrown in for good measure.

With less than an hour left, BBC Radio 1 DJ ‘Fabio’, took the frequencies down a few hertz with some dark, jungle flavoured bassline rollers including ‘Street Life’ by Chase & Status and Serum’s massive current anthem ‘Snake Fist’.

The vibe stayed alive till the very end, until the night was brought to a very abrupt close when the sound engineers turned off the sound system. The crowd were left screaming for one more tune…

Tune of the night: Mistabishi – Printer Jam (Taken from the ‘Drop LP’ out now on Hospital Records).
